It’s Just Me – Original Poem

A call away is all I have to say
Grey clouds surround the sliver lining

You believe in you

Us is a faded memory

We are all victims
Becoming machines as machines become reality

Words on a keyboard; kisses on the screens
Hugs never felt by human flesh

I have peaked on the mountaintop
High above the blue skies only to fall
Stumbling past shadows into a fiery pit of self-inflicted isolation

Millions stare into the soulless mirror
Looking at a reminder of a former self

Be gone, be gone

Live and breathe a life once known
Destroy the monsters in the closet and raise the sword of victory as the bed sheet cave blows in the wind
