Adolescent Terror – Original Poem by Amy Tilden

This poem was written by a very talented 21 year old writer, photography, sketch artist and guitar player. I wanted to share this piece by Amy Tilden

We exist in a terrifying time
Hearts as cold as the machine that controls them
Tired, our bodies ache

Artificial sustenance feeds our hunger; feeds our soul

Life is a broken bone when your back is to humanity

We reach out to each other only to grab at nothing
No one is there
We leave a message after the tone

That dial tone sets the mood of a mediocre day

Breathing life out of ourselves and into technology
Growing up in an age of uncontrollable amnesia

WE have forgotten who we are
