True Companion – Original Poem

true11

Will you be my true companion?
Will you grow old with me and more beautiful with each passing day?
Will you let me discover you with each new sunrise?

You are the blessing hidden deep in my prayers
The person I want to become
The angel from high above

Will you be my true companion?

Words cannot express my love
Songs cannot translate the music in my head

In an instant a world changed
One glimmer of light and you appeared
From the darkness to enlightenment you found me

A lost puppy in a sea of flowers I wandered
Smelling the sweet nectar of a perfect world
A perfect world without meaning; without promise; without direction

Then there was you in the distance

Will you be my true companion?

true1

Destiny is written in the stars
Your soul next to mine high in the cosmos
In that field filled with the fruits of temptation I am grounded by you

A presence so powerful, yet so quiet and subtle
You awakened a sense left dormant by denial
An energy flourishing in the midst of your perfection

Will you be my true companion?

In you, I have found myself
In you, I will forever love

Is Marriage the Answer?..It can be

marry2

Sometimes the comfort of life is found in the simplicity of routine and awareness. Last evening a comedian asked a recently married woman why she chose to get married and she replied, “It’s fun”. I almost wish it were that simple, but as we all know it is not.

Why do we get married, raise a family, lives in the solitude of a house with a white picket fence, a dog and two cats.

  1. It is safe and comforting. There is limited risk when you have the same routine, come home to the same people and know what to expect before the day begins.
  2. Avoidance of loneliness. We never want to live alone and more importantly die alone. It is one of the darkest thoughts any of us can conceive.
  3. Life is hard enough. If you can limit excess challenge and stress, it makes the rest a little more bearable. Finding someone to comfort you at night is one of the most emotionally straining journey’s of one’s life. Finding someone to share your life with is a gift, even if it is not perfectly wrapped, it is better than constantly shopping.
  4. It is a perception of accomplishment and normalcy.  Each stage of your life brings a societal accepted level of accomplishment.  As you reach a certain age, based on culture, geography, professional level, etc, one is expected to be married and bearing children.  Those that have not reached that level are all too often thought of as failures, gay, weird, crazy or any other number of personality or mental flaws.
  5. The need for intimacy.  As you get older, your physical attributes become less attractive and the availability of physical intimacy becomes more difficult.  Marriage does not guarantee daily affirmation, but it does assure you it will happen at some point.
  6. We no longer have to dream.  I see this as a negative.  When we are young we are full of wonder.  We want to see the world, volunteer to help the less fortunate, invent the next great thing, write the perfect novel, go to the Olympics or change the world.  Marriage can bury all those hopes and dreams with two simple words, “I do.”

marry1

Here is why marriage can be incredible and stunning beyond your wildest imagination:

  1. She/he believes in you and you believe in her/him each and every day
  2. Your shared passions comes together in a perfect tapestry
  3. You laugh, cry and smile together
  4. They are the only person in focus and the vision of the them is brighter than anything else around you
  5. You want to feel the pain when they are not around
  6. You know you are not perfect and you are not ashamed to make mistakes
  7. Each kiss feels like the first.  Each morning is a new beginning
  8. The glow.  A simple day is like winning the Olympic gold as long as you can share it together.

Fall in love

Fall hard

love

Take the giant leap, but only when you know; when you really know deep in the depths of your your heart that this is your destiny.  When they complete you like no has or ever will again, you will know.

It is the most unbelievable reality you will ever know.

It will amaze you.

Modern Fairy Tale – Original Poem

romance1

I didn’t rescue you from a castle tower protected by the fire breathing dragon.

I didn’t serenade you in song under the rich dazzling moonlight

There was not a chamber orchestra in the background increasing rhythm and tone as I drew near you.

No
No
No

Perched under a tree on an unconventionally cool autumn day. The leaves parading in a multitude of color, a soft shadow by your side and a cool breeze brushing the hair from your eyes.

Such unconventional soft beauty
A model trapped in a normal world

With your glasses just off your nose, a warm comfy sweater and a mug of cocoa, a picture of perfection is painted

romance3

Eyes focused on the book, I am but a passing glimmer in your life, but for a single moment, a bird, an uncomfortable shift in the wind; you looked up.

Entered into your vision, in a twinkling of clarity your future was now in focus

As her mental picture developed, we danced in the fountain under the cascading moonlight

In mine, cuddled under the blankets warmed by the fire in the cabin

As our eyes locked, the sun hid behind a cloud poised to shower us with the rains of change.

The water began slowly and increased in power and frequency.

We both stood motionless

Soon, without voluntary movement, our bodies moved closer together. Like two magnetic forces the energy increased its intensity

Now in a downpour, two bodies in motion become one
A long deep sensual embrace of the lips

A declaration of love without a word spoken

romance2

Never to be written in a storybook or published in a magazine, a true fairy tale has been storied in the corner of the library as a classic for the ages

This is Romance

Romance comes in many different forms.
Some through small gestures and others in unexpected surprises.
It rarely takes more than a few words, a hug, a kiss or a look to reveal the truest form of romance and affection.

Perhaps because it doesn’t happen often enough, but in that moment, time stops briefly and a spiritual enlightenment fills you soul with the warm juices of contentment.

Isn’t that what life is about, contentment and love.
Knowing and experiencing those that bring you to the height of acceptance is what we live for each and every day.

We don’t need to wait for miracles or wait for something special to happen.
All we need to do is focus on those that care about us and embrace those rare moments of romance.

Picture this:

You come home after an extended trip, feeling under the weather and warn out.
You sift through the mail to find a hand written envelope from another country and inside a simple white card with these words:

You have no idea how you still affect me.
One email from you and my heart makes a little jump.
I guess this will be forever so.
I know know I have no claims on you, but what I wouldn’t give for one more day/night with you.
Thank you for being who you are.
Talk to you soon. I mean it.
Big hug to you, wonderful man.

This is unconditional eternal love.
Think about it.
A few words
A flower
A picnic
A kiss on the cheek
A warm bath

It doesn’t take more than a gesture to remind someone that you love them.

Weakness of Love – Original Poem

There is a truth in your eyes that tells me you will always protect me from the storm
The closer you hold me, the more freedom I feel
I can comprehend from your unspoken words, the feelings you hold in your heart

I am bestowed with a blessing
Not in words nor actions
Not in the premeditated journey written in the sand script of my mind

But with a kiss and a stare
You penetrate deep into the corners of the most protected layers of this fragile soul
Without knowing it, I have given you my life
With one mighty release, I am thrust into your arms
Reality is suspended; time has stop and eternity has set a course for the unknown

It is in this now we become a power higher than ourselves
This completeness can only become fulfillment when the greatest weapon of the angels is exploited; unconditional love

In the now, I breathe your air
I walk in your shadow
I bleed pain when you ache

In the now, your inner beauty overtakes this external facade
Your soft skin, radiant eyes and gentle lips are but a disguise to ward off the weak and invite the pure

I am now powerless but grabbing the spirit of a thousand horses
My heart stronger than steel; my body gentle as a warm autumn breeze

In this final release, I walk to you barefoot and exposed

The Flight – Original Poem

By the corner of my eye, I bear witness to this lovely stranger
Sophisticated in dress; skin soft as the morning sun
Our arms brush together as innocence finds intimacy

In a moment, fate places the role of cupid in an unfulfilled prophecy
Two hours by your side
Conversations played out in your head a hundred times over but fear handcuffs the first word

A glance over to see if eye contact can initiate this divine meeting
For a single instant our eyes meet
A feeling that stops time
Almost a sound echoes from this mouth
Just one word
One sentence and then the rest will flow like a river to the sea

Have I missed this chance at love?
Has my mind served as an anvil drowning me to the bottom of the ocean?

Release yourself and let the course of human interaction decide your future

Thirty thousand feet of freedom
The Earth below and love in the clouds

It is scripted for us, but we fear the audition

I close my eyes to soothe my confusion
Now relaxed; I am reborn
As I returned to my awakened state, I see the subtle seduction as her fingers brush her thigh
It sends tingles
But why?
She is a stranger but I have seen the story of our marriage

What a mystery this tapestry of mental stimulus

The plane is landing
Our romance must now end
Not a word spoken but a memory forever I will keep

I Love my girlfriend but can’t afford to take her to expensive places – Great Free Date Ideas!!!

So, you are head over heels in love.
You just look into her eyes and know she is the one.
The one you dreamed about all your life and now that your dreams are complete, paranoia sets in.

How do I keep her interested?
Will she get bored and move on?
She is way to beautiful to be with me.
I am doing ok financially but I how can I afford to buy her expensive things and take her on high priced dinners and trips?

Oh no!
I can’t win.
Wait, wait wait, there are other options.

We are here to help. You are surrounded by 26000 miles of earth who’s beauty and opportunity are waiting at your feet.

Here are a few sure fire and FREE ideas of great things to do with your partner (in crime).

As long as you understand her interests, keep the relationship exciting, diverse and spicy and continue to show her the affection and love she deserves, you will have a long and amazing life together.

1. Wash the car or bathroom together. It is an activity you can do together and more importantly you will both get wet and soapy. I hope I don’t have to explain anymore about this activity.

2. Keep an eye on your local bars and restaurants online and on Facebook. Some offer free food or drinks if you like them or sign up for their newsletter. Free drinks…Bonus!

3. Look around your kitchen. Round up all the food and spices you have, Google what you have and you may just find a great recipe or two you can make that will make her smile and full enough to want to cuddle in bed.

4. Volunteer together. Look for a run, fund-raiser, music or arts festival and work it together. That way you are helping a good cause and getting some free entertainment.

5. Camping under the stars. How romantic is that.

6. Potluck party!!! Call, text, Evite, Facebook all your friends and have an impromptu party where everyone brings a bottle, mixer or snack. Instant party and all you need to provide is the front door.

7. Why not a little education. Go to a museum or art gallery. Many only ask for donations at the door or have totally free admission.

8. There is a model in all of us. Break out your point and shoot, SLR or IPhone and have a couple photo shoot. Go to the beach, bedroom, river, gazebo or anywhere fun and scenic and take photos of each other and then you can make a virtual or physical collage.

9. Hit the rivers and ponds. Go cliff diving (Not in the crazy Acapulco kind of way) or swim and frolic together.

10. People watching and storytelling. Sit at the park with a coffee, tea or latte and try and create a story about all the people that walk by. Be imaginative. It can be better than the movies.

11. Learn a new skill. Can you sing or play guitar or even hula hoop. Teach each other your special skills.

12. Find a free music or comedy showcase. In many cities there are hundreds of free shows from young up and coming performers that are free of charge. You may even have a friend or two in a band. Go support them.

13. Flash mob. You know you always wanted to try it. Learn more at improveverywhere.com

14. If you are in a town where there is a talk show or game show, get tickets. They are typically free and you can say you were part of the audience. Total bragging rights to family and friends.

15. Join clubs that offer free trips or group events (www.meetup.com). Many have biking or running clubs that you can do together and maybe make some new friends.

16. Watch the sunrise or sunset. It is a classic but always one that reminds you of how important you are to each other.

17. Indoor card games…You know what I mean.

18. Dog walking. Hopefully one of you has a dog. If not, borrow a friend’s dog and offer to take them out for a walk together.

19. Health first. Find a farmers market and browse all the vendors. If you are feeling the urge, buy an apple or peach and have a little light fruit or veggie snack together.

20. Go to an open mic night and do a reading or play a song. Showcase your talents and witness others showing their skills and confidence.

21. Sit on a street corner or in the park with a sign that says “Information” and offer advice and tips to tourists who are looking for things to do locally.

22. Make a music video. With flip video cameras, IPhones, IFilm, YouTube and so many other free software options, you can let out your creative side and make a funky music video as a couple.

23. Samples, samples samples – Hop over to Costco or Sam’s Club one Saturday, browse and take advantage of all the samples offered throughout the store.

24. Yoga at the beach or in the park. All your need is a mat, some technique and you have a mental and physical task you can do together.

25. Be a child. Get a group of friends together and play “Duck, Duck Goose” or “Hide and Seek”

Does The Bachelor set romantic expectations too high?

The romantic gesture of sending flowers to your significant others work or a picnic in the park under the warmth of the sun or dancing in the rain in the middle of the road are all exceedingly beautiful actions to demonstrate the all encompassing aura of love. They are the truest of selfless acts that shows ones unconditional commitment to another.

But, when millions of women, watch Ben give a personal trolley ride through downtown San Francisco, scale the Golden Gate Bridge, have a national recording artist sing in City Hall or get kissed during a personal fireworks show, the bar gets set a little bit higher; almost to the point of unattainable.

The influence of the show has furthering affects on our environment. During a pivotal scene showing the conclusion of a date with Lindzi, he played piano to David Gray as they kissed the evening away. During my twenty minute drive home this fine night, I heard “Babylon” twice. hmmmm. Coincidence? I think not.

Fortunately, after the show has ended, the morning water cooler talk has subsided and the Facebook comments are settling in, we are back to reality…until next Monday when they horseback ride in Park City, Utah and whisk the night away with wine and hot tubs.

We as men do take solace in knowing the producers of the show do lend a bit of assistance as most common men cannot break into City Hall, reserve a city trolley and have a personal fireworks show over the San Francisco harbor, but the illusions remains.

So what do we do? Obviously, take comfort in knowing we are in bed with the one we adore and she cannot walk through the television and into the world of reality shows. For now at least. But, we still need to take notes and keep her on her toes. The Bachelor should not be our only point of research. Though most men hate to admit it, we do browse through Cosmopolitan and Vogue to help us with the ultimate dilemma, understanding women. This truly complex formula, more intricate than anything Galileo or Einstein ever theorized, is one that has baffled men from generation to generation. As hard as we try to impart our wisdom on the next generation, they too will fail as did we. We will continue to smile and celebrate with high fives the way men should when we gain even the smallest of victories.

Back to the topic at hand. Has The Bachelor set the bar too high for men to ever achieve the level of romance that women want? As a single opinion in the vast melting pot of relationships, I say yes. Our women may not say it out loud, but we know they are thinking it.

When they say “Honey, I adore you so much”, they are thinking “Why can’t he be more like the bachelor”
When they say “I love the little things you do”, they mean, “Why can’t you get off your ass and do something special for me”

Do we know how to read between the lines and just ignore it accepting we are the best we can be or do we truly not get it. Some do and some don’t. We have to keep some secrets to ourselves you know.

In the end, for two hours on Monday night, a fantasy world is created for 12 million plus women living vicariously through the 25 women who are fighting to extend their fifteen minutes of fame. Is The Bachelor really about romance? That is for you to decide America.

From the words of a writer and a poet, romance is a blessing. It is the true escape to a fantasy world where illusion becomes reality and the soul is drenched with the impulse of love. It captures our senses and warms the deepest corners of the heart. Love gives us the strength to find hope in despair and happiness in a sea of sadness. It is the most powerful force we can ever encounter and provides us with a reason to live.

Not everyone needs a reality show to see why we all desire even for a moment the ultimate feeling of love.

Most Romantic Movies of All Time (Just my opinion)

10. Pride and Prejudice (1940)

Sir Laurence Olivier was one of the few actors in comparison to Clark Gable and Cary Grant that had the presence to dominate a scene. His charm, wit and pure model-like looks made him a perfect romantic lead. Partnering in the romantic world of Jane Austen, this film brought us back to a time of simplicity, aristocracy and the proper behavior of the elite. This is a charming film headlining the beauty of Greer Garson and the charm of Laurence Olivier in a love story between Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy. Clearly, this is one for the ages.

9. King Kong (1933)

Only the beauty of a lady could tame the wild beast. In this timeless classic of Ape loves woman, King Kong brings the world of fantasy and romance together as one. With the backdrops of the wild and the streets of New York City with a culmination at the top of the Empire State Building, King Kong is a story full of drama and suspense, but in the end it is a true tale of love conquering all. At the conclusion, it is King Kong who makes the ultimate sacrifice for the one he loves.

8. When Harry Met Sally (1989)

What can you say about Harry and Sally?
They love each other
They hate each other
They love each other
They hate each other…Wait isn’t that what love is all about.

What other movie takes you from Chicago to New York, follows two individuals through friendship, marriage and divorce, throws in a public orgasm, a virtual date of Casablanca and still leaves you teary eyed as they realize their unconditional love for each other on New Year’s Eve.

Meet Harry and Sally, the truest of opposite attracts tales.

7. Casablanca (1942)

Perhaps one of the most quoted movies of all time. Perhaps one of the most memorable endings of all time. Perhaps one of the greatest film love songs of all time. Perhaps one of the most beautiful shots of Ingrid Bergman or any actress of all time. A classic and one of the greatest films of all time.

Humphrey Bogart’s Rick had it all. He had his bar, the partnership of the police, the fine suits and the tortured soul of a man who lost the love of his life who he met one fateful weekend in Paris. Now, “of all the gin joints, in all the towns, in all the world, she walks into mine.”

Rick is once again faced with the ultimate challenge, fight for the love of his life or let her go once again to let her be with the man who is fighting for a cause and peace in the middle of an insane war.

Casablanca will go down as the poster child of unrequited love stories.

6. Before Sunrise (1995)

Richard Linklater has masterful skill in his films about making them about his characters. He takes the complexity of humanity and gives it a heart and allows the audience to feel and connect with each of his films actors. He is a true orator who scripts a piece of ourselves in many of his infamous characters.

Celine and Jesse were two young travelers from different worlds who found each other due to coincidental circumstance on a train in Western Europe. As we follow these two strangers for the next 18 hours through the streets of Vienna, we are taken in by the beauty of the Austrian culture and land and absorbed by the complexity of a French girl and American boy confused by love and cultural difference. In the end, we are left to our own accord to determine the future of their relationship. Ten years later, Before Sunset re-united Celine and Jesse on the screen but what happened to them in between?

5. Notting Hill (1999)

Richard Curtis has a knack for writing great romantic comedies (Four Weddings and a Funeral, Love Actually, War Horse and Bridget Jones Diary) and Notting Hill is no exception. Having Julia Roberts cast as one of the most popular actresses in the world was a brilliant bit of casting while Hugh Grant as the bumbling specialty book store owner was a fine compliment. This is a wonderfully scripted story about two unlikely people from different sides of the pond finding each other and fighting off not only the paparazzi but their own self inflicted prejudices about their lifestyle choices. Though the ending is what the audience expected, the supporting cast added some fresh comedy and quirky behavior to their courtship.

4. Love Story (1970)

What began as a short story for Readers Digest became one of the most beloved tragic romances of all time. Nominated for seven Oscars, Love Story has become one of the most touching examples of young unconditional love. Jennifer and Oliver came from different backgrounds, one from money and one from humble upbringings, but when true love finds you, nothing will stop you including making ultimate sacrifices for what you know in your heart is true. If you have not seen Love Story, bring tissues. You will need them.

3. Life is Beautiful (1997)

When you think of the Holocaust, there are few happy or positive things you can take away from this historic time period. Robert Benigni took one of the most darkness moments in world history and found the light. Separated, hungry, scared and trapped in concentration camps surrounded by barbed wire and the threat of torture and death each and every day, Benigni used the love of his wife and child to hold on to hope. Hope that one day they would all be together again, free. He never stopped believing that the miracle of love was stronger than any gun or soldier. With each scene his smile and laughter brought a glimmer of sunshine to his son, himself, his fellow captives and the audience. Truly a must see for those that believe love is the strongest weapon of happiness.

2. Love Actually (2003)

Take Keira Knightley, Colin Firth, Hugh Grant, Emma Thompson, Alan Rickman, Rowan Atkinson, Billy Bob Thornton, Liam Neeson, Laura Linney and Denise Richards and you better have a great story. Add in the mixed sub plots of a new Prime Minister of England, porn stand ins, a lustful secretary, a writer, caterer that is obsessed with the US, a love struck boy who learns drums to impress a girl, an aging rock star and a widow who buried his wife to the songs of the Bay City Rollers and you have a melting pot waiting to explode. Somehow, Richard Curtis and company not only made this a reality, but made it into a beloved story of lives inter-mingling with one common goal: the pursuit of love. This story will make you believe over and over and over again.

1. True Romance (1993)

Not many lists will have a Quentin Tarantino and Tony Scott film at the top of a Best Romantic Films list. Especially one that would make Pulp Fiction look like a PG-13 film, but it made the top of this one.

Following a story of drug trafficking, embezzlement, torture, death and revenge, Clarence Worley and Alabama Whitman found true love. When an introverted comic book manager meets a virginal prostitute, the results would not typically end well. Maybe it was loneliness or the common bond they shared being isolationists in this crazy world or just the chemical reaction that is injected into those few couples that find love at the moment they lay eyes on each other. In the most unconventional of meetings and truly a journey of redemption, it is Clarence and Alabama’s love that not only keeps them together but keeps them alive.

Honorable Mention:

Sleepless in Seattle (1993)
It Happened One Night (1934)
The Philadelphia Story (1940)
An Officer and a Gentleman (1982)
The Way We Were (1973)
Annie Hall (1977)
Bringing Up Baby (1938)
Lady and the Tramp (1955)
Phantom of the Opera (1925)
City Lights (1931)

Moonstruck (1987)

Love Letters from the Past

The art of the letter and more importantly the love letter is a dying art. Jest, I may even go so far as an art well past its prime to the point of seizing its last breath. It was the anticipation of opening the envelope and seeing emotions pour out on paper as you held onto each word hoping to hear the true spirit of the person behind the pen. The love letter is a symbol of the romantic bond between two hearts who want to immortalize their feelings for all eternity.

As an ode to the pen and all those that have expressed their love through the written word, this is a thank you. Though some loves lasted and others faded with the wind, it is these words that will forever be remembered.

Let us now reflect on a time when we opened our hearts and expressed a level of emotion that committed us to the ultimate risk, the risk of love. Some shattered hearts, while others mended, but we sat on the edge of our seats in anticipation of the next letter and the words that would pour from the pen to our souls.

Enjoy excerpts from Love Letters from the Past:

“In the most simple and true way possible, I love you. Not the kind of love that requires it back, or the kind of love that comes with expectations or strings…Just the kind of love that sets my mind at ease whenever I am with you. The kind of love that washes my body with an alarmingly sweet heat at your touch. Not the kind of love that exists because of what I want or desire, but the kind that exist because of who you are and who we are together; because of who I am with you. I feel safety when I’m in your arms, like the entire army from hell couldn’t come close to me while I’m there. The softness and passion in your kisses seem to lift me from the earth, melting the rest of the world away and leaving only you and I to swirl around in the clouds of ecstacy. The heat of your body next to mine, the feel of your hands on my skin and in my hair. The way your eyes sparkle when you say something clever…These are the things that caused me to drop my guard with you even though my situation basically doomed us from the beginning. The way you seem to always be right, the way I don’t care when I am wrong. How you laugh when you really think something is funny and when you thinks it’s not. These are some of the things that ultimately lead me to love you. I don’t expect anything from you or out of “us”. I don’t need you to love me back. I don’t need any promises or favors…All I need is for you to know how I feel. Nothing more, nothing less. Simple isn’t it?!?”

- Summer

“Your letter was amazingly, awesomely, wonderfully great. I was smiling and laughing out loud the entire time I read it. The people around me thought I was crazy. Oh no! Now they know the truth about me. I got my Cosmopolitan magazine on my lap, some Juicy Fruit gum and the Walkman which I didn’t put on yet.

I wanted to write before we took off because I’m afraid I’ll get dizzy if I write while the plane is moving. I wanted to tell you how great it is for me to have finally found some true, real friends like you and Rock. I really appreciate all that you do for me. It can’t begin to tell you how much better you always manage to make me feel. But I’ll finish this later because we are starting to move. Thank you for always being here for me and for being such a wonderful and caring person.

I’m gonna miss you this weekend. A lot! Love,”

- Stacey

“Thank you for all the support you have given me during this difficult time. I know your thoughts will continue to be with me. Now you won’t have to hear that you spend too much time with me or get hung-up on :) . I love you. I never said I needed you to love me the same way. And all I ever wanted was for you to let me love you. To kiss your lips, light a candle, and make love to you again. I would do or give-up anything in the world. Thank you for the year. I couldn’t have asked for a more special one. You are a special person to me with a permanent place in my heart. I have all the faith and confidence in you. Whenever you get lonely keep that with you. Your precious princess…”

- Kimberly

“I know that long distance relationships scare you (Believe me, they scare me too!). But I haven’t and never did ask that of you. All I would like to try for is perhaps a “friendship”. I do care about you and that surprises me considering the fact that I just met you. Please, don’t be scared to talk to me or write. I really do think that you are a great guy. I care and I’m here if you want a friend. Always…”

- Joleen

“You are amazing. I mean it. I was so happy to have you in town and I’m sad your’re on to your next destination – but I know it will be wonderful. You are a true friend and I’m so happy you’re my friend”

- Jen

“I meant what I said this morning, that no one has made me feel special in a long time. You don’t know how much it means to me when your do the little things, like saying “Thanks for going out last night for dinner.” People can buy all the gifts in the world, but it doesn’t even come close to how I feel when I know you think about me. When I read your Christmas card, for instance it meant the world to me for you to say that something reminded you of me and to know that you like being near me. As much as your may hate to admit it, you are a nice person.

So I finally meet a guy who is fun, interesting, has a life and responsibilities, can understand that I have a life with my own responsibilities and wouldn’t you know it, it turns out to be my friends’s brother. The guy he told me not to get involved with because until he is serious, he treats girls like crap…”

- Amy

“As I sit here writing this, I am anticipating your departure. I am very happy that you will be able to spend time with your family and friends. Yet naturally, I am saddened that you will not be with me. I will miss you very much when you are gone. Remember that I am thinking of you and still loving you. I feel an array of different emotions right now. Where do I begin? Maybe one day you will be showing this letter to another love of your life or maybe it will be one you keep as private as your journal. I love you. That is where I wish to start.”

- Kimberly

“I needed to say something, please don’t take this letter as a bad thing. It is not a bad thing. Obviously I’ve been back and forth through all this and obviously I’ve put serious thought into it. It’s a very serious thing for me and I’m sorry to do this but I need time. I’m not asking for forever; just a couple of days. I need it and I’m sorry for that but I have to do this. I need to not see you for a couple of days. I need this.”

- Casey

“How can I say good-bye to a person who aggravates me to no end but also always makes me laugh? I wish you the best of luck throughout your life. I hope you will be happy and I know you will be successful. I already miss you and can’t wait until you come back. My love always…”

- Kim

“It truly is the little things you do that make me love you. The words you write, taping the show, dancing to no music but that in our heads and so much more. I want to be clear about my feelings. No interruptions.

I made that promise before I ever met you and I continued that promise before I really felt you. I want you and need you because I love you. I realize this isn’t necessarily forever, but for now…you were right when you said my name. I am yours because you make my eyes grow and everyone of your kisses still send chills down my spine and butterflies to my stomach. This is all why I want to share this with you. I want to know and I never want to regret having all these feelings and never having found out what it feels like to be with you. You mean the world to me. You have become my world. Whenever you decide you want me, I am here. And I want you so badly I can feel an ache I never knew existed. You are very important to me. I love you”

“Being that February is “Adopt a Bunny Month” I figured I should do my part…Granted it’s just a card with bunnies on it, but what can you do.

Actually, I was just thinking of you-which I seem to be doing quite often lately, and wanted to try and brighten your day like you brighten mine…(Seriously, I’m not always this cheesy”
