You Saved My Life – Original Poem

You saved me life
More than once

In a moment of weakness; a juncture of despair you found your way into my heart

I am flawed
Filled with uncertainty and moral unrest
I am not perfect
But I try
I give myself for what I can and fight for good

It is a battle full of risk
Choices to be made
Mistakes to be forgiven

I have been lost
Deep in the forest with no direction home
Darkness served as enemy and guiding light
In the underbelly of depression, answers were found
It was when I was trapped that the steel chains could be broken
I found a way back to you

You saved me
With your kindness, you soothed this beast
Serenity in bliss
Soothing undisturbed and pure

You saved me
With wit, charm and charisma

You saved me
You cannot hear me now
You cannot see me now
Forever you will feel me

With unconditional love, I thank you.
In the compassionate belly of my existence, you will rest

Never Forgotten – Original Poem

I have seen the bliss of the sun and the fiery pits of hell
I looked all around for a familiar voice; a friend; an embrace of life’s salvation
In a moment of complete darkness, I looked to the light for answers
It was then that the darkness would fade to emptiness

Years would pass
Without hope
Without answers
Without the truth

The stars brought isolated moments of peace
The quiet breeze sent signs of hope
The cold morning freeze stopped the pain

Still time continued as this lonely path converted from a mission to empty steps

In the bottle amnesia would serve as temporary comfort
Chasing away the nightmares
Sleep was within grasp
Behind me, years have passed with no memories

Today I awaken to the same haunting past
Where tomorrow leads, I do not know
I am still fighting my demons, aching for resolution

I can only remember now
Never to forget
A life once led, not carried forward with my words and actions

I miss you

A Fantasy of Glee – Original Poem

I watch as the sun dances across your face
A cherub dancing in the fields showering the flowers with glitter

With a shadow mimicing a harmony of steps, two dance under the cleverly composed diction of the orchestra of clouds

Swept away in the moment
Drawn to the fire
Released to the guidance of the spirit of freedom

From the caves
Across the mountains
Out from the desserts
In the forests

The majestry of wildlife rejoice in the sounds
Absorbed into the sweet nectar of life’s soundtrack they find solace and joy

All together in an extravaganza of the mind
A rainbow of elation
A spectrum merriment

From the corners of the earth, all war seizes, all prejudice dissolved, all hate buried

In a single universal moment of peace, we are one
One world, one vision, one harmonious existance

Falling Into You – Original Poem

First voice in the morning; last at night
The energy that lights my candle
Whispers of friendship have blossomed into endearing love
But wait, time can destroy this union of destiny

It is about you now; it has to be for you are the flame that lights the sun

The world has shrunk to a small space reserved for you and I

Life is a journey traveled alone until the soul runs weary, rests on a stone and relies on the comfort of another to continue the path

Let’s just be
You and me
Alone, together for all eternity

I want to bleed your love

Did I say I love you?
I am a fool because I have not said it enough
I am a jester because I exposed my weakness with my words

My fear is your strength
You hold me in your arms with the power of a thousand armies
Your sword pierces my will to live; your words conquer this momentary bliss

Hold me til I die and then hold me a little longer

My paranoia is that someday I will fleet away to a pond of loneliness
The water will quench my thirst, but the drought of your absence will send me to this grave

I’m a lucky man
For just one moment I found you
Locked in your eyes I found the answers to questions too distant to reach

You are the shelter that will save me from this storm
With this power you can release me and destroy me
To my knees I go and wait…

Broken Spirit – Original Poem

Alone in the midst of the fields of wheat, clouds hover over her listless flesh and bones
Cold as the night air she stands
Feet as heavy as an anvil surging to the bottom of the ocean

The pouring rain rages from the heavens coating the porcelain skin with the essence of touch
Hands in the air
Prayers flowing through her lungs to the sky above

In a moment of weakness, she is grounded to her knees
The wind rests in front of her face; she stares eye to eye with the guardian of all that is
Trying to inhale the power of the almighty and humble to his calling

Wind sucks the life from her fragile body
Breathing becomes harder
Darkness becomes prominent
Conscious life is a distant memory

As she falls, the ambassadors of nature cover up the shell of this once brave and ample young vision
It is that final surreal moment where all flashes of life come to the forefront like a cinema directed by the mind and viewed by the judges of the afterlife

From birth to death is but a trial with a jury of idiots pondering a sentence with no meaning
Judged by imagination and faith

The wind vanishes, the sun rises, the harvest gleams
Birds fly with broken wings for another is gone

Thank you to the World

There are moments in your life when you become lost for words. As a writer, this is a rare occasion for me. Today marked one of those New York Minutes where words cannot properly express my personal gratitude for what has come to light.

After taking a moment to look at my analytics, I noticed something quite spectacular; the listing of countries that had viewed my blog today. The list and colors were so long and diversified. I quickly put my counting skills to work (Thank you Ms. Hasse, my 3rd grade teacher for providing some of my speed counting skills). After a quick count and then recount I came to the realization that my blog had been viewed in 79 countries today.

I was taken back
In awe
Overwhelmed
Aghast
Amazed

Ok, maybe I am laying it a little thick with the descriptor terms, but it goes without saying that I was and continue to be grateful seeing this. To know that my words, thoughts and emotions have broken the barriers of race, religion, politics and culture so that the universal messages can be heard.

I love sharing my poetry, personal anecdotes, lessons on life, keys to personal happiness, career tactics and pursuit of peace, unity and love. Yet knowing this message is heard and resonating throughout the globe leaves a personal warm spot in my heart.

Often in life we develop a passion for something. Something that becomes our addictive vice. This can be a sport, hobby, a desire or a mission. To put your blood, sweat and tears into each and aspect of this is its own reward, but to know that silent recognition is being sung is priceless.

Without each and every single reader that reads and aborbs these words, this blog would have no success at all. Not only is it successful, but it is continuing to grow.

This message is a thank you. I mean a giant thank you to each person who either has read this for the first time or follows each blog.

The knowledge of the world wide visibility of this blog is a true testimony to the power of the written word.

In a society of instant information and gratification where visual stimulus in pictures, video and music are the mode of accepted transferance of information, it is a blessing knowing the written word still has a home.

What makes this even more special is that I don’t have to hold back. Some of you have been with me through some very difficult crossroads in my life and some amazing periods of celebration. Thank you for allowing me to share those moments and I look forward to many more.

Home – Original Poem

In your arms I am home

I have fallen into this trance as the world is being pulled into a gravitational free fall
Showered in a cleaning pool of heavens purity

As Adam gave his body to Eve, we are one
A spiritual bond together in shackles but free as the bird escaping the mist of a perfect storm

Let me go as the Earth crumbles before us but don’t ever close your eyes to my needs
The end is a metaphor as birth is a death sentence we are all entitled to
It is earned with the gift of original sin

See through me
Can you see this beating heart?
It is fragile and inviting
It is the cornerstone of a passion wrapped in a fragile glass house

Home is full of wonder
It is comforted by a rainbow of affection
It warms the cold air and wishes away apathy

In the purgatory of life, you are the meaning I have searched for
You are my home

In your arms I rest and smile

The Awakening – Original Poem

I ain’t no crying kind
This crazy heart holds it all inside
Free falling to the bottomless abyss inside my mind that races without a finish line

It is without regret I see the light
The clouds part and the sun shines
In a single moment all aching subsides, all pain is gone

I am weary in a place that sees no weakness
This is a home without land; a fence without boundaries

Out of the darkness I crawl into the enchanted forest
Greens as pure as angels
Water with the clarity of timeless beauty

For once, this poet is void of words
Roaming alone without hesitation
No turning back
No mirror of hidden memories

Forward steps in the sand
An instant of beauty
A sunrise decorated with mystery and music

This is it
The single moment when physical and mental lows meet with the angel of twilight and to rise above is the greatest victory

No fanfare
No celebration

An awakening has arrived

Eternal Love – Original Poem

You are tattooed in my heart
The ink bleeds through my veins

You are my eternal love

The music that is harmonized by birds
The graffiti that fills the concrete jungle that is so focused on black and white
The inspiration not written in words; the hero not spoken about in speeches

You are my eternal love
Like a finely woven stitching that tapers off and returns to a perfect pattern of love and harmony

It is in you peace is a reality
It is in you I can once again dream
It is in you I find truth hidden under all the lies

Void of fear, you only seek solace in the tears of my loneliness
Comfort is waiting in your arms and whispered in the presence of angels

You are my eternal love
Now as I rest, my dreams and reality become one
My eyes will open soon to an angel by my side

A shower of illumination is the evidence of your presence walking toward me and easing all the pain

Journey Into Night – Original Poem

The night sky dark and clear
A spectacle of stars fills the night sky
An Imax of universal proportions free of charge

Into the night to the chats of go west, a journey begins with one step and ends with closure

Two journeymen brought together by blood; torn by life’s choices
It is with wisdom and sacrifice they find common ground

Strength of will to guide them along the black abyss
Deeper into the darkness, clarity is found

In the moment of weary indecision a sign is thrust upon them
In a burst of hallucination and clairvoyance their mission is clear

A force, more powerful than time provides a spiritual sleigh to bring them home
Legs weak
Thoughts clouded
Wills nearly broken

The light of day rises from a blissful rest and brings vision to the blind
It is a warm blanket of comfort

Now the journeymen must rest
Lay their bodies down and replenish for this road is only begun

Another dawn; a welcome hug; a time for healing
