Timeless – Original Poem

images

By Mark A. Leon

I felt a sweet breeze in this Northern sky
A brush of snow tickling this nose
It’s been a long time, but you are still mine
The only one that makes me believe we can live forever

You are timeless
Ageless, without flaw

Turning back time, a childhood dream
Every stop, a reminder

There you were
There you are
There you remain
Timeless

Roads covered in our melody
Sprinkled in the music of the leaves falling from the sky

This year will be even more incredible
This year, once again

I will remember why you are the one
Like a flawless diamond formed by the eternal clock of time
Like a tender flower pure as the morning sun
An autumn rainbow circling my heart
You possess the key to my fate

Time has stopped
Still
The sounds of silent raindrops
A composition so divine
Written for me and you
A dance for two

Alone with you
My timeless love

Last Song – Original Poem

2a2d6992ff5fc7bc511779cee8c190ad--beach-photos-couples-couples-love

By Mark A. Leon

Your love makes me weak
All I’ll ever seek
It makes me want to cry no more

I found you standing there
Alone and scared without a prayer

I dreamed you into my life and now I stand beside

Strangers no more
Strangers no more

In a world to crowded for to see
You opened my eyes
Spreading your wings, I lie on feathers so free
Cuddled in your arms for all to see
This world is for you and me

Strangers no more
Strangers no more

I fell too many times
Fear left me blind
Too many chances lost
A youth wise no more

Waiting for the finale to confess, I never loved the rest
I waited all my life for this sacrifice
Now I know
All those words
Promises made
Emptiness burdened

A prelude to your kiss

I will fall from this sky
In your arms, I will subside
A phoenix rising from the fire

When the smoke clears

Strangers no more
Strangers no more

Goodbye Doc – Original Poem

Beach-Rays-of-Light-Wp-long-goodbye

By Mark A. Leon

I always wondered if our love was strong enough to sustain
Maybe tomorrow we would be better
So many questions unanswered

You had me at first sight
A cliché formulated into a reality
A Gatsby moment frozen in time
Every girl a prize
You, a vision, beyond reason, beyond attainment

I wished to see you again for minutes, days, months
Time would pass without purpose
Then you appeared, again, the girl who captivated my heart

I found you under the glimmer of the setting sun in the darkness of this abandoned building

One toast and we were both drawn into this fantasy
With a sip of champagne, we leaped

I burned for a love I never thought I would attain
We were a country song with a tragic ending
I perfect love with an imperfect story

I found treasure on the sands of Rincon
Touched heaven in the mountains of Blue Ridge
I sipped the wine of our savior from your lips

Those Polaroid moments, so still, so permanent in my heart
So few, yet so important to our journey

Now you kiss the fields of the Midwest
I soak in the crest of the coastal wave

I watch the sun rise ask I think about where you are
I remember fondly

Perfection never lasts

It comes unexpectedly and kisses you with the power of a waterfall and the scent of sweet honey

Goodbye Doc

For a love unfulfilled, I ponder
For the strength you instilled, I cherish

I’m older now, but for you I still feel like a child

May I Have This Dance? – Original Poem

dance2If I approached you, would you ask me to dance?
If held out my arms, would you cry by my side?

That’s all I ask of you

If I laid in bed a little too long, would you rest your head on my chest?
If I breathed the words of sadness, would you heal them with your light?

I ask you now, illuminated by the witness in the sky, will you join me for this ride?
As I wait, fixated on the reflection in your eye, I see the glow excite

Will you be the one I dreamed for all time?
Will you paint my future and fly it on a kite for all the world to see?
And celebrate with a toast as the light of my life

This clumsy fool weakened at the knees stands before you seeing fantasy meet reality

Matchmaker, matchmaker sing us a tune
Shower it with destiny from the delicate ivory of Gershwin
The words of “How Do I Love Thee” ringing from the resting soul of Browning
A harmony so lovely
A tune so familiar, played in my dreams for so long

Matchmaker, matchmaker, escort us to the dance floor
Release us to the unknown on a path of rainbow delight

As I sweep you off of this gravitational pull and thrust you to the sky, will you always be my special one until my last breath should subside?

One Day – Original Poem

One day a boy met a girl
No fanfare.  Just a look in her eyes, a glance, a stare back
A secret smile shared

She grew up on Cinderella hoping to lose her slippers along the way
Him on tales of adventure
They both ran away through the fields of possibility
Wild flowers, grains and warm sun to guide their way

With passion flowing through their veins, they pursued dreams of a better place
To live a life of virtue and render a legacy of hope

One day a boy met a girl and then a lifetime of wandering with their life bag on their backs had meaning
The words were defined
The paintings overflowed with the colors of greens and blues

One day a boy met a girl and it all would change
A life of many shrunk to two

He breathed for her
She yearned for him
They both stood naked; stripped of their inhibitions and fears

Raw, honest, fresh
Each unlocking their box, exposing two hearts with a lifetime of scars
Each day, a healing process

With the touch of a hand, the secret smile now shared with many
No more hiding
In the open, they danced
They danced to the music of the night
Loud and thunderous; soft and slow
They danced
A life of music discovered

One day a boy met a girl
Both confident and independent, now shy and insecure
Goosebumps on a warm fall night
Unusual; memorable; extraordinary
On that day, they visualized a lifetime of love and locked it securely in the back of their minds
Always to come out in dreams

One day a boy met a girl
He found love; he gave love
She accepted

Maybe….Possibly – Original Poem

My heart skipped a beat when our eyes first met
The ocean echoed your name with every crash of the waves
The sun spotlighted the inner beauty

I was content to be alone; a wanderer

Until our souls found their way into the covenant arms led by love’s guiding hands

In your eyes a future of possibility
Roads unpaved
Paths of greens and yellows sparkle to lead us through the darkness of the unknown realm

In quiet solitude our minds recite the vows
Without a word spoken a promise is made

Witness by a feeling, signed by the blood of our beating hearts, sealed in a kiss and placed in an empty box

A box of memories beginning with the moment I found you to be filled with all eternity
