Weak and Wicked – Original Poem

Passionate couple foreplay black and white

By Mark A. Leon

It gets harder to breathe without your lifeline

A toast to the night
To our time together
To the sensual touch of your kiss
The lingering taste of your fruit

I lied when I met you
I promised the now, but yearned for eternity
I prayed for you, before our eyes ever met
I yearned for you, before I thrust into the domain of your soul

I dreamed about the forever story, but lived the now or never mind
A fairy tale thought, a realist outcome
A fool I am
An ignorant servant to the hand of the almighty
Weak and wicked

You are a symbol of grace; a classic reminder of the greatest gift bestowed upon this Earth
Mother Nature’s favorite child

With the curves of life’s highway
The soft skin of the nectar that feeds the romanticism of it all
The sensuality of penetration

Deep and slow
Breathe, control, balance

I woke this morning to the sound of pouring rain
I swore I heard your voice call my name
It was the ghost of a past I could not shake
It’s time to re-awake

Your body is my canvas
The colors of my life
The rich blues and warm greens and the red hot steamy nights

I need to breathe again
That I know
I need your touch
Inside you, I will show

Hello Again, My Love – Original Poem

DSC_0595-2By Mark A. Leon

Hello again, my love
I just want to say hello

One more time with no agenda

Today it seems, you are so far away
I need you back to say, “I need you so”

In all my years, I stumbled through the words
Finding ways to say, just what you already knew

Kindness fell upon your lap
A freckled smile; a childhood laugh
A tender kiss, I was on my way
Looking back, all I could say was silence
A mute

A coward to the fear of letting you know
Falling prey to letting you go

In the shadows; the wind; your past is close behind
Smell of your morning rests on these worn pillows

I was your cowboy, quick to the draw; justified with cause
The chivalry wasn’t enough
It was the flesh wounds of my emotional absence
The quiet nights with no fight in the distance

This horse is come to pasture now taking solace in a pond under a blue sky in this all too familiar place
A red letter day for these old eyes

Seeing the sun rise after so many lonely sunsets
Seeing your reflection in every river
Hearing your voice in the song of the coyotes
Feeling your warmth sitting by the light of the fire

It’s time to come home and to say hello

Dear love

Love is Everything – Original Poem

By Mark A. Leon

Love is everything
Without it, we are invisible

Invisible to the sound of a morning rain
Invisible to the smile of a rose blossoming in Spain
Invisible to the sight of long slow kiss
In this life, there is so much we can miss

Love is enchanting like a warm summer breeze
A tingle, a wink, a sigh, a touch of a cool spring day

It is the reason we rise
The struggle to survive
The euphoria of time
The essence of rhyme

Love breathes
It protects
A blanket so safe

A song
A whisper
A kind eye

With the simplicity of words
Words spoken in the air
Linger, journey, invite you near

Take hold
Take flight
Find meaning
Stop thinking; just be
A disease infecting my very soul

Love is everything
Meant to be lost
To be found

Hold for a second
A risk
Take a picture
Keep it for all time
It will last forever
With the winds of change, I will be reminded of the smile that has stopped in time

With the strength of a thousand “I Love Yous”
I feel so alive now
So alive with you

You are the escape I have dreamed about
An imaginary world come true

With you, love is everything

When the Walls Come Down (For Kyla) – Original Poem

By Mark A. Leon

When the walls come down and the smoke clears, you will have my heart
On the other side, I’ll wait with open arms

Fall into me
Let gravity take hold and the fear wash away

When the walls come down, I’ll be by your side

Dreaming away the pain

Together, under the moonlight on the empty streets of Paris, just you and I
A kiss under the stars
A poem on the Siene
A leap from the Tower

In your black lace dress, a vision of beauty
Hair as dark as the night
Eyes inviting the warmth of an eternal caress
That glow that lights the city of love

I’ll be waiting when your walls come down

A kindness you possess
Porcelain skin so timeless
A love you seek in a world cleverly haunted by misguided tendencies

In the sand, I write your name
Oh Kyla, dear Kyla
Until the warm ocean current ushers it to a journey of wonder with endless possibilities

In the sky, your name in the clouds
For all the world to see
An angel is bestowed and she shall be named Kyla

A new story to be told
A new path to be sought
A new bed to lay your weary body

Rest now.  Rest your eyes and dream away the nightmares
In my arms, you will be
Safe, together

When the wall come down
I’ll be there for you

Stranger in Flight – Original Poem

By Mark A. Leon

Let me into your life stranger in flight
Thirty-five thousand feet and speechless
A life time I will share with you from take-off to landing
East bound plane drifting from this western sunset

Adventures we will have
Children we will raise
Discovery, we will find

Sexuality steams from your mystery
My dream girl without a name
A perfect match we will be
So much in common until we speak

I see you with every passing mile
Me, just a stranger across the aisle
No dream, no fantasy, no daydreaming of a life together

Your thoughts are of the life that awaits at final destination
A loved one at the gate

Husband, boyfriend, girlfriend, family
None include me, your future husband that will never be

For a moment, I felt an energy exchange
Perhaps you saw me
For a glimmer in time, I piqued your curiosities
Maybe a chance I could have

No, just my imagination on caffeine
It has been a long day, a long week, a long year
I feel you can energize me back to a time of youthful love

Two giddy children excited and afraid
The moment just before the first awkward kiss that would be our greatest memory

For two hours, I fell in love with you, my blond angel in the sky
My stranger in flight

The wheels have extended and the ground has found a permanent place for this flying machine

Walking away, you get further and further, out of my life

I wave in hopes of catching your attention, but in reality, I am only finding inner closure

Goodbye love
Goodbye my stranger in flight

The Smile On Your Face – Original Poem

By Mark A. Leon

The smile on your face says it all
Let’s me know you’ll be there when I fall

When I slip off this cloud and gravity takes hold
My will remains bold

I know you will be there
In my heart, the words flow and in flight I swear

Til the end of time, I will be there
Always to bear
You and me babe
Taking on the world with style and grace

Through the tears, I’ll dry your eyes
Through the sorrow and the long goodbyes

In the heat of passion
With a fierce beating heart
The burning flame kindles this night

To the cold winters days
Safe by the fire and warm soothing light

Without words, you speak to me
Unspoken chapters
Acts played out in our minds

I dreamed of you last night
I dreamed of us flying, guided by the moonlight
Serenaded by the doves
Whistling songs of love

I awoke to the smile on your face
Looking at me as the night erased

Another day with you
A blessing, a gift

My love, my saving grace

Bipolar Love Affair – Original Poem

By Mark A. Leon

You and me, a perfect match
Racing to the sun and moon
One minute life
One minute death
In between, the space between us

A love affair insane to the eye
A quest for meaning, two stars in the sky

I hear myself saying these words
So loud, they scream, just to be heard
All the voices so loud and clear
Hoping one day you will be near

Laughing in the mirror
The truth is just an illusion
A playful pawn masquerading around the ball
A lift
A dip
A spin for good measure
But when the clock strikes midnight, it all comes to an end with no memory of the pleasure

I read your words written in the clouds
Spelled out by birds flying so very proud
They tell me it’s you watching from above
Reminding me of our true love

You and me, I hope to be
In a better place
Just wait and see

Now I sit, surrounded by me
Exposed as a newborn baby

There you are, my perfect mate
In life and death and love and hate

No one knows just what we have
But they’ll always remember we made our own path
