The smile on your face says it all
Let’s me know you’ll be there when I fall

When I slip off this cloud and gravity takes hold
My will remains bold

I know you will be there
In my heart, the words flow and in flight I swear

Til the end of time, I will be there
Always to bear
You and me babe
Taking on the world with style and grace

Through the tears, I’ll dry your eyes
Through the sorrow and the long goodbyes

In the heat of passion
With a fierce beating heart
The burning flame kindles this night

To the cold winters days
Safe by the fire and warm soothing light

Without words, you speak to me
Unspoken chapters
Acts played out in our minds

I dreamed of you last night
I dreamed of us flying, guided by the moonlight
Serenaded by the doves
Whistling songs of love

I awoke to the smile on your face
Looking at me as the night erased

Another day with you
A blessing, a gift

My love, my saving grace

Meaning of Life – Original Poem

1664922-bigthumbnail

By Mark A. Leon

The uncontrollable forces of humanity
Let the unpredictable take hold of your senses
To breathe on its own

A blink
Exposing the deepest roots of humanity and self-realization
Isn’t that it
Isn’t that what this ride is all about
Meaning

In the pits of the soul
The trenches of the mind
The depths of reality and imagination crashing in an explosive bang

Huh
That was something

Grounded once again
Level
Balanced
Serenity
Walk on water, taste the air, feel the force of wind

A power so much greater than I
It must be the sign I seek

A creator
A manifest destiny

Looking, looking, looking
Where is that big moment that answers all the questions?

Maybe it is in the beauty of a newborn
The soft touch of animal
The bit of wisdom from the elderly
The peaceful look of the rising sun
The stillness of the moonlight

Maybe I am looking too far
Like a traveler without a destination
A journeyman without a map

The home I seek lies on the steps I take
All around, it is all so familiar
This is the place
This is the time

Answers are near

A Man Like Me – Original Poem

PERSON-SHADOW-facebook

By Mark A. Leon

Why waste a leap of faith on a man like me?
You’ve been disappointed, hurt and led astray
It seems right to resist the temptation of a devil in disguise
I’ve loved, I’ve lived and I’ve lied

After all the days and nights wandering through this life, I found the one to make it right

Like a prize fighter bruised in one last fight
I think it’s time to walk into the sunlight

A flower in a bed of sand
A rock of salvation clenched tight inside my hand
A star lost in flight
Wishing so hard for you to light my night

Why waste a leap of faith on a man like me?

An old soul trying find his way back home to you
Through deserted highways and empty rail cars
Deep inside my thoughts
Another man

Betrayed by the past
Tangled, confused and sinking fast
Take my hand
The water fills my lungs as the infinite plane of existence stretches beyond the realm of eternity

Just as my eyes submerge from this frozen moment of clarity, I am thrust
Rescued
In those eyes a reflection of this lifeless body

Lips so close
Cherry red

A leap of faith landed

Why a man like me?
